The Community and Immigrant Support Services (CISS) plays a vital role in enhancing the lives of immigrants and international students in Newfoundland and Labrador. Our mission is to improve retention, integration, and overall well-being through accessible information, community support, and culturally responsive programs. We acknowledge the unique challenges faced by newcomers, striving to provide the necessary resources that allow them to thrive from arrival to long-term settlement.

Addressing Key Challenges Faced by Newcomers
Newcomers often encounter challenges such as fragmented services, unclear information pathways, and social integration difficulties. The CISS is committed to bridging these gaps by providing practical support and fostering community-based solutions. In light of findings from the 2025 “leaky bucket” report, we develop culturally inclusive programs that address barriers to integration, ensuring that all newcomers can participate fully in the social and economic fabric of Newfoundland and Labrador.
